Research Papers, which are, not have been previously submitted and published elsewhere should declare the results of original research. Articles are expected to report novel information not just to confirm previously published works Besides, research papers must not exceed 20 manuscript pages including tables and figures.

Short Papers are used to publish results which represent a major finding or new discovery not including preliminary results which should therefore be published quickly (first records, reports & observations may not welcomed) Papers must contain sufficient data to establish that the research has achieved reliable and significant results.

Technical Notes should report new methods and/or procedures for research methodology.

Short papers and technical notes, which are results of brief but significant work, must not exceed 10 manuscript pages including tables and figures.

Review Articles: Only invited reviews should be submitted. If you appreciate that your review is remarkable, you can send the abstract and a cover letter indicating the importance of the review to info@trjfas.org. Review articles solicited by the editorial board, should not exceed 30 manuscript pages including tables and figures.

Preparation of Manuscripts for Submission

Main Document (not including names and addresses)

Main document is usually divided into following sections:

🗸 Title of manuscript
🗸 Number of pages
🗸 Number of Tables
🗸 Number of Figures
🗸 Abstract with key words:

Abstract should not exceed;
200 words in research papers,
300 words in reviews, and
100 words in short reports and technical notes.
Three to five key words (not existing in the title) should be listed below the abstract.
The abstract must be in only English.

Acknowledgements

You are requested to identify who provided financial support for the conduct of the research.

Title Page

🗸 Authors' full names, with an asterisk after the name of the corresponding author
🗸 Authors' affiliations and postal addresses, including e-mail address of the corresponding author
🗸 ORCİD Links of the authors must be written.
🗸 Phone numbers of corresponding author

Tables

Number tables consecutively in Arabic numerals (1, 2, 3, ...), and type each table on a separate sheet. Title of the table should be written on top of the table. Descriptions about table items should be placed at the bottom of the table with an asterisk.
Tables must be in regular format of MS Word (not figure or manually written)

Figures

Number Figures consecutively in Arabic numerals (1, 2, 3, ...), and type each Figure on a separate sheet. Title of the figure and descriptions about figure items should be written on bottom of the figure.
🗸 Tables and Figures might be cited in the text consecutively.
🗸 Tables and Figures should be given in the end of the main document. Also you need to upload them via online system.
🗸 Figures must have a resolution of 300 dpi.

Copyright Release Form

During the submission step, authors will be directed to download and complete a ”Copyright Release Form’’ which must be signed by corresponding author.
The author(s) warrant(s) that:
🗸 The manuscript submitted is his/her/their own original work;
🗸 All authors participated in the work in a substantive way and are prepared to take public responsibility for the work;
🗸 All authors have seen and approved the manuscript as submitted;
🗸 The manuscript has not been published and is not being submitted or considered for publication elsewhere;
🗸 The text, illustrations, and any other materials included in the manuscript do not infringe upon any existing copyright or other rights of anyone.
🗸 TrJFAS has unlimited, worldwide, irrevocable royalty-free, right to publish, use, distribute, license, transmit, display, exhibit, record, store, translate, digitize, broadcast, reproduce and archive, in any format or medium, whether now known or hereafter developed.

Manuscript Submission

TrJFAS welcomes only one manuscript for publishing as first and/or corresponding authors within 12 months.

In case of resubmitting rejected manuscripts in TrJFAS:

Authors must clarify their changes in Cover Letter section. Otherwise, the manuscript will be rejected directly.

Submission of all types of manuscripts to Turkish Journal of Fisheries and Aquatic Sciences proceeds totally online via the Online Submission & Review System which you will be guided step-by-step while uploading of the various files. All correspondence, including notification of the Editor's decision and requests for revision, is sent by e-mail.

Reviewer Suggestion

Please submit the names and institutional e-mail addresses of at least 3 potential reviewers to the Cover Letter section in Online Submission system.

Authors in TrJFAS may be asked to be reviewer in the future.

Peer-Review

Double-blind review system with at least two reviewers is used to evaluate the manuscripts for publication. Editors have the right to reject the manuscripts without peer-review when the manuscript is:

a) on a topic outside the scope of the Journal,
b) lacking technical merit,
c) exhibiting narrow regional scope and significance,
d) presenting conflicting results,
e) is poorly written.
f) when there are too many manuscripts in certain periods, editors have right to reject the papers without peer-review Editors are responsible for the final decision regarding acceptance or rejection of articles.

🗸 The percent sign appears without a space after the number (e.g., 53%) and not before (e.g., NOT %53)
🗸 Decimals are indicated by decimal points and not by commas throughout the paper (e.g., 10.24 NOT 10,24)
🗸 et al. are italic (et al.)
🗸 Latin terms such as species’ names are italic (e.g., Oncorhynchus mykiss)
🗸 Degree symbols are inserted from the Symbols menu and are not superscript letter 'o' or number '0'
🗸 Multiplication symbol is used (×) and not small "x" letters
🗸 Spaces are inserted between numbers and units (e.g. 3 kg) and between numbers and mathematical symbols (+, ?, ×, =, <, >) but not between numbers and percent symbols (e.g. 45%)

Changes to authorship

Authors are expected to consider carefully the list and order of authors before submitting their manuscript and provide the definitive list of authors at the time of the original submission. Any addition, deletion or rearrangement of author names in the authorship list should be made only before the manuscript has been accepted and only if approved by the journal Editor. To request such a change, the Editor must receive the following from the corresponding author: (a) the reason for the change in author list and (b) written confirmation (e-mail, letter) from all authors that they agree with the addition, removal or rearrangement. In the case of addition or removal of authors, this includes confirmation from the author being added or removed.

After Acceptance

Once your manuscript is accepted for publishing in TrJFAS, you are going to be sent an e-mail which indicates the volume of your manuscript. Track your manuscript via the given link in the mail and correct Early View proof to finalize your published paper.

You are going to asked to send 3 photographs and 1 video (~60 sec.) about your study to share on our social media accounts in order to increase your paper’s publicity. Please send your twitter username.

The preferable format for video clips is MP4 (maximum file size is up to 200 MB), and for images either JPEG, GIF or PNG (maximum file size per image is 5MB, and 3MB for animated gifs)."
