The aim of this work is to assess the sediment pollution by contamination factor (Cf) of metals and degree of
contamination (CD) of stations. Sediment samples were collected from 26 stations in autumn 2010 and analyzed for metals
(Al, Cd, Cu, Pb, V, and Hg). The degree of contamination is estimated as very high at one station, considerably high at nine
stations, moderately high at fifteen stations and low at one station. This study also helps to classify the contaminants whether
they are anthropogenic or not.
