The egg production rate (EPR) of Acartia (Acartiura) clausi was measured between January and December 2008 in
Sinop Inner Harbor (southern Black Sea). During the study period, EPR were found to be generally low varying between
2.04±0.43 (20 October) and 19.41±1.73 eggs/female.day (26 March). The mean EPR was recorded 8.62±1.02
eggs/female.day. The results have shown that water temperature and chlorophyll-a concentration are factors that affect the
EPR of A. clausi; however, these factors are not always sufficient alone to explain the EPR in Sinop Inner Harbor.
